Where to Install the Omni Services Connection Agent

The Omni Services Connection Agent facilitates connections to email systems. It must be installed on the following servers:

  • On the eControl Server if hosting connections to a GroupWise system
  • On each Windows server running Exchange services

 

How to Install the Omni Services Connection Agent

To install the Omni Services Connection Agent:

  1. locate and execute the InstallAgent.bat file located in the C:\Program Files\Omni\eControl\Agents\Omni.Services.Connection.Agent folder.
     
  2. This will open a cmd.exe execution window. At the "Press any key to close the window . . ." prompt press any key.  At the "Would you like to start the service now ? (y/n):" prompt type y and enter.  The service will automatically start and the cmd.exe window will automatically close.
     
  3. To verify that the service is running, right-click "My Computer" on the Windows desktop and choose "Manage".   Find the "Omni Services Connection Agent" service in "Services" and verify that the status shows Started. If the status shows blank, right-click this service and select Start.
