Manage the Forgot Password Feature

The "Forgot Password" feature will empower network users to reset their own passwords after proving their identity by answering specific personal questions that only the individual user knows the answer to.
Enable "Forgot Password"
To globally enable the "Forgot Password" feature:- In the "Self-service" page of the Administration panel, click the Forgot Password Management button.
- In the "Forgot Password Management" window, check the Enable 'Forgot Password' Functionality option. This will make the rest of the options visible.
- To enforce forgot password denial, check the Answering a question incorrectly results in a denial option. (Optional)
- Examine the Admin-Defined Questions which is a master question list. eControl includes a master set of questions that each user can select to use for their personal "forgot password" settings. Decide:
- which questions to remove that do not meet corporate security policy requirements. To remove a question:
- Click the Delete link beside the question to be removed.
- In the "Are you sure ?" window click OK to delete the question.
- what questions to add to the master. To add a new question:
- Click the Add new question link below the question list.
- Provide the text of the question and click the Add question button.
- which questions to remove that do not meet corporate security policy requirements. To remove a question:
- Click the Save button to save the modified forgot password features.
- In the "Self-service" page of the Administration panel click the Apply New Settings to save and enforce the forgot password management features.
